Community Work Day: Kepakemapa (September)

$0.00

Sunday, September 29 from 8:30am to noon

Join us for a community work day at Pālehua!

Hana will include removing invasive plants, such as removing strawberry guava or bamboo with handsaws or cutting grass. We will also be planting natives.

Please wear shoes, bring a jacket, hat/sunscreen, bug spray, water, and snacks. Gloves will be provided but volunteers are welcome to bring their own, as well as any tools you prefer for this sort of hana.

Initial meeting location will be at Makakilo Community Park. We highly recommend arriving 15 minutes early. Please find parking in the lot or on the street. We will meet on the sidewalk near the playground. This offsite location will allow us to consolidate into 4-5 vehicles that will carpool through two gates, up Pālehua.

Participants must be comfortable carpooling from the park. Please arrive early, as we will leave at 8:30am. Groups must be guided up the mountain together.

We provide water jug and a light snack. Please feel welcome to bring your own lunch. When the work is over you are welcome to stay and talk story while eating or you can head out (in carpool group).

Communication will be sent to the email provided at checkout prior to the work day. If you are later unable to attend, please email maukacabins@palehua.org.

Weʻre excited to work alongside each of you. Thank you so much for joining in on our journey to mālama i Pālehua.
